Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a cutting-edge treatment that combines the use of the medication ketamine with personalized psychotherapy. Ketamine works by promoting physical growth in the prefrontal cortex and other brain areas associated with emotion regulation and mental health disorders. It builds new neural pathways in the brain, leading to improvements in mood, function, sleep, and other aspects of well-being.

How kap works

The KAP treatment protocol starts with a comprehensive medical and psychological intake/assessment to determine a patient's suitability for treatment.  Though ketamine has an excellent pharmacological safety profile, there are certain contraindications, which means that KAP may not be suitable for every patient.

Once the screening process is completed and an individual is approved for KAP, we will create a personalized treatment plan that includes ketamine dosing sessions and integration sessions, which includes talk therapy. Typically, we recommend planning for at least three dosing sessions and three integration sessions to maximize your treatment outcome. However, some individuals may require more sessions, and we will tailor the plan to your specific needs and desired outcomes.

**Ketamine is not covered by insurance. We can provide you with various payment options including but not limited to Care Credit and Health Savings Accounts.**

We understand the neurophysiology of mental health and recognize that medication is often a necessity. Our holistic approach is designed to craft a personalized and integrative plan of care for psychiatric medication evaluation and management through the expertise of our talented psychiatric PMHNP and nursing staff.

*We require that anyone receiving psychiatric care also meets with a therapist for optimal results*

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation or TMS, is a cutting-edge treatment for depression and OCD.

During TMS sessions, a small coil is carefully positioned on the patient’s head, delivering painless magnetic pulses that stimulate nerve cells in the precise region of the brain responsible for mood regulation and depression. These pulses aim to activate brain regions with reduced activity associated with depression. The result is often a noticeable improvement in depressive symptoms and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

How tms works

TMS is a safe and well-tolerated treatment option that does not require any anesthesia or surgery. TMS treatment involves daily sessions over several weeks, and patients can resume their everyday activities immediately following each session.

Most insurance providers offer coverage for TMS with a prior authorization for services.
